Survival Garden Seeds offers lovely Pink Evening Primrose seeds, ideal for gardeners who appreciate the beauty of this enchanting plant. Our non-GMO seeds are selected for their quality and vitality, ensuring a display of delightful pink flowers in your garden.
The Showy Pink Primrose (Oenothera speciosa) is popular for its large, soft pink flowers. These plants are especially captivating in the evening, attracting pollinators like butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees and providing a unique garden experience. Native to the Americas, Pink ladies can blossom well in USDA hardiness zones 4 through 10. They are also resistant to deer, which makes them perfect for gardens near wildlife.
To cultivate showy primrose, sow the seeds directly into the garden space. Late fall or early spring is the best time, as the cold temperatures break the seed dormancy and promote germination. Scatter seeds on the soil surface. Press them lightly into the soil, not covering them as they need sunlight to start germination. Maintain soil moisture until the seedlings emerge, which will be in 2-3 weeks.
Once the showy evening primrose plants are established, they don’t need much upkeep. They are tolerant to drought, generally thriving with natural rainfall. These plants spread through self-seeding. If you wish to contain their spread in the garden, maintain them regularly or grow them in a space where they are confined, like a container or raised bed. The blooming period of Pink Ladies is long, often all summer into early fall. After the flowers fade, the plant produces seed pods. They can be collected for future planting or left to self-seed.
With Survival Garden Seeds, you can grow Showy Evening Primrose in your garden, creating a stunning visual experience. These flowers enhance the beauty of your garden space and have special value for native pollinators.
