    Can be started indoors 3-4 weeks early if growing season is short, but does best sown directly in ground once soil is warmed. Once established, thin to 4-6 feet apart, leaving the strongest 2-3 plants per hill. Needs rich soil, lots of water and plenty of room for vines to spread.

    Scoop seeds from inside of pumpkin and use water to separate seeds from pulp. Spread seeds on wax paper so they are not touching. Flip after a few days, and continue to dry for 3-4 weeks. Store in a cool dry place for up to 4 years.
