INTRODUCING ST. JOHN'S WORT SEEDS

St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a perennial herb with origins in Europe. It is also known as Klamath weed or goatweed. Today this herb is grown worldwide and flourishes in USDA hardiness zones 3 to 10. Typically, this plant will reach 1 to 3 feet in height. It has bright yellow, star-shaped flowers that bloom from late spring to early fall, offering a striking ornamental addition to gardens.

PLANTING ST. JOHN'S WORT SEEDS

Start St. John's Wort seeds indoors, 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost. They can be directly sown outdoors in fall for spring growth. Cold stratification is recommended for 4 to 6 weeks before planting. When planting, barely cover seeds with soil as light is necessary for successful germination. Transplant the seedlings outdoors 18 to 24 inches apart when seedlings are large enough to handle.
