What Makes Survival Garden Seeds Different - non-GMO heirloom seeds

Henderson Bush Lima Bean Seeds from Survival Garden Seeds offer a classic heirloom variety loved for its reliability, mild flavor, and ease of growth. First introduced in the late 1800s, Henderson remains a favorite for home gardeners, educators, and anyone looking for a compact, productive butter bean that requires minimal care. These bush-style plants grow well in small spaces, need no trellis, and are quick to sprout—making them ideal for teaching plant life cycles or adding a dependable, protein-rich crop to the garden.

Reliable, Productive, and Beginner-Friendly:
Henderson lima beans are known for their consistent germination, quick sprouting, and dependable yields of creamy white butter beans. Even young or first-time gardeners can achieve success with this variety. The plants are naturally drought tolerant and continue producing steady harvests of tender beans even in challenging conditions.

Compact Bush Habit for Easy Growing:
These small, tidy plants fit comfortably in raised beds, small gardens, or classroom containers. Their no-stake growth habit keeps setup simple and maintenance low, offering a stress-free introduction to gardening. Despite their compact size, Henderson plants remain productive throughout the season.

A Nutritious, Versatile Heirloom:
Henderson butter beans have a mild, creamy flavor that works beautifully in soups, stews, casseroles, or simple side dishes. Beans can be enjoyed fresh, frozen, or dried, providing flexible options for pantry storage. As an open-pollinated heirloom, they are also seed-saving friendly, allowing gardeners to collect seeds for future seasons.

How to Grow:
Sow seeds outdoors after the last frost when soil has warmed. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil, watering consistently during early growth and pod development.
