Dependable, Sweet, and Productive:

  • Classic heirloom selected for its performance in a wide range of soils
  • Tapered, 6–8 inch roots with rich orange color and sweet flavor
  • Strong tops make thinning, weeding, and harvesting easier
  • Reliable yields for fresh use, extended storage, or preserving

Why Customers Love Danvers 126 Carrots:

  • Thrives where many carrot varieties struggle
  • Uniform, predictable growth ideal for home gardeners
  • Excellent flavor for snacking, roasting, soups, and fermenting
  • Proven Non-GMO heirloom trusted for generations

How to Grow:
Sow carrot seeds directly outdoors in loose, well-drained soil after the danger of frost has passed. Prepare the soil by removing rocks and breaking up clumps to help roots grow straight and strong. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep in rows, keeping the soil consistently moist until seedlings emerge. Thin gradually to 2–3 inches apart for best root development.
Carrots grow best in full sun and benefit from steady, even watering. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, which can cause forked roots.

Harvest & Use:
Harvest when roots reach full color and size, or earlier for baby carrots. To store, trim tops to one inch and refrigerate or place in a cool, moist environment. Danvers 126 holds well and maintains flavor, making it a smart choice for long-term storage and pantry use.
