What Makes Survival Garden Seeds Different - non-GMO heirloom seeds

Grow sweet, tender carrots with Scarlet Nantes Carrot Seeds from Survival Garden Seeds. This cherished heirloom is known for its exceptionally fine texture, juicy deep-orange flesh, and truly coreless roots—qualities that set it apart from many other carrot varieties. Scarlet Nantes produces uniform, cylindrical carrots that average about 7 inches long with strong 10–12 inch tops, making them easy to harvest and versatile for both fresh use and storage.

Scarlet Nantes carrots are quick to mature and hold beautifully when stored, offering gardeners a dependable, flavorful crop for immediate enjoyment or later use. They also make excellent baby carrots thanks to their sweetness and absence of a tough core.

Sweet, Coreless, and Consistent:

  • Deep orange, juicy flesh with excellent flavor
  • Cylindrical, coreless roots ideal for fresh eating or baby carrots
  • Strong tops for easy pulling and garden maintenance
  • Reliable texture suited for slicing, cooking, or snacking

Why Customers Love Scarlet Nantes Carrots:

  • Early to produce and consistent across the season
  • Stores remarkably well without losing sweetness
  • Perfect for gardeners who want smooth, fine-grained carrots
  • Heirloom, Non-GMO variety with trusted performance

How to Grow:
Sow seeds directly into loose, well-drained soil once the danger of frost has passed. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep and keep soil lightly moist until germination. Thin seedlings to 2–3 inches apart to allow full root development. Scarlet Nantes performs best in deep, loosened soil that allows roots to grow straight and uniform.
Provide full sun and even watering throughout the season. Avoid freshly added manure or high-nitrogen fertilizer, which can cause forking.

Harvest & Use:
Harvest when roots reach their full size and rich orange color, or earlier for tender baby carrots. Trim tops to one inch for storage. Scarlet Nantes’ fine texture and coreless structure make it ideal for fresh snacking, roasting, soups, and long-term storage in a cool, moist environment.
