What Makes Survival Garden Seeds Different - non-GMO heirloom seeds

Tendersweet Carrot Seeds from Survival Garden Seeds produce exceptionally sweet, deep-orange roots that live up to their name. This heirloom variety develops long, smooth 9–10 inch carrots with fine-grained, nearly coreless texture and excellent color retention. Tendersweet carrots hold their sweetness and rich orange tone beautifully, whether eaten fresh or prepared through cooking, canning, or freezing.

With crisp bite and tender flesh, Tendersweet carrots are a favorite for home gardeners who want a dependable, flavorful carrot that performs well in both the garden and the kitchen.

Sweet Flavor and Tender Texture:

  • High natural sugar content for outstanding sweetness
  • Smooth skins and fine-grained texture with almost no core
  • Retains flavor and color when cooked, canned, or frozen
  • Long, uniform 9–10 inch roots ideal for slicing or whole-roasting

Why Customers Love Tendersweet Carrots:

  • Delicious straight from the garden or preserved for later
  • Consistent quality and dependable performance
  • Excellent texture for fresh eating, juicing, or cooking
  • Heirloom, Non-GMO carrot trusted for its flavor

How to Grow:
Sow carrot seeds directly outdoors in loose, well-prepared soil after the danger of frost has passed. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep and keep the soil evenly moist until seedlings emerge. Thin young plants to 2–3 inches apart to ensure long, straight root development.
Provide full sun and steady moisture throughout the growing season. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, which can lead to splitting or irregular shapes.

Harvest & Use:
Harvest when roots reach their full 9–10 inch length and deep color. Trim the tops to one inch for proper storage. Tendersweet carrots maintain excellent flavor and texture when cooked, frozen, or canned, making them a versatile choice for year-round use. Their crisp, tender quality also makes them a standout option for fresh eating.
