Giant Leek Seeds (Allium ampeloprasum) produce large, flavorful leeks prized for their thick stalks and mild, onion-like taste. This heirloom variety is an All-America Selections (AAS) winner, recognized for its reliability, adaptability, and generous yields. Despite their impressive size, Giant leeks are easy to grow and perform well in both in-ground gardens and containers.

Thriving in full sun, Giant leeks develop long, succulent stems that are tender and versatile in the kitchen. Their balanced flavor works well in a wide range of dishes, from hearty soups and stews to fresh salads and stir-fries. They are especially well known as a key ingredient in classic leek and potato soup.

Large Size with Dependable Performance:

  • Produces long, thick, uniform leek stalks
  • Mild, onion-like flavor with tender texture
  • All-America Selections award winner
  • High-yield plants adaptable to many growing conditions

Why Customers Love Giant Leeks:

  • Impressive size without sacrificing flavor
  • Easy to grow, even in containers and small spacesExc
  • ellent yields for home gardens
  • Versatile ingredient for everyday and gourmet cooking

How to Use / How to Grow:
Sow Giant leek seeds in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Start seeds early and transplant seedlings once they are sturdy, spacing them to allow stalks to size up properly. Planting seedlings deeply or gradually hilling soil around the stems helps produce longer white portions.

Leeks prefer consistent moisture throughout the growing season. Harvest when stalks reach the desired thickness, and enjoy fresh or cooked in a variety of dishes.
