Grandpa Ott Morning Glory is a gorgeous plant with heart-shaped green leaves and trumpet-shaped flowers in velvety purple with a distinctive contrasting star center. This variety grows quickly to 8-10 feet making it an excellent climbing vine for fences, trellises and arbors.

  • Add Color to the Garden - Easy to Grow vining flower blooms in the morning and adds a gorgeous splash of color. Grows even in poor soils and spreads rapidly. Will reseed itself readily for years of enjoyment.
  • Scarify for Better Germination - This type of seed should be soaked and/or scarified prior to planting for improved germination. Scarification means nicking, scratching, sanding, or otherwise damaging the exterior coating of the seed. This can be done with a nail file or sandpaper. Follow instructions on packets for best results.

    File or nick seed coating and soak overnight in water for faster germination. Start indoors 4-6 weeks early, or sow directly outside 2 weeks after last frost. Take care not to disturb roots if transplanting. Space plants 6 inches apart and provide a trellis or other support for climbing vines.
  • Seed Saving Instructions
    Collect brown, dry seed pods after flowers have faded. Crack open pods to reveal seeds inside. Dry indoors on a tray or paper plate for about a week. Label and store in a dry dark place.
