What Makes Survival Garden Seeds Different - non-GMO heirloom seeds

Experience one of the most visually stunning heirloom melons with Moon & Stars Watermelon Seeds. Named for its celestial rind pattern—deep green skin sprinkled with golden yellow “stars” and larger “moons”—this variety combines show-stopping beauty with rich, old-fashioned sweetness.

A Watermelon with Celestial Charm:
Each Moon & Stars watermelon is a work of natural art, featuring a dark green rind marked with bright yellow spots. The medium-to-large fruits average 15–20 pounds but can grow up to 40 pounds under ideal conditions. Inside, crisp red flesh delivers a classic, juicy watermelon flavor that’s exceptionally sweet and satisfying.

Why Gardeners Love Moon & Stars Watermelon:

  • Unique heirloom variety with striking galaxy-patterned rind
  • Produces 15–20 lb fruits with sweet, crisp red flesh
  • Thick rind protects fruit during storage and makes excellent pickles
  • Beautiful addition to home gardens and farmer’s markets
  • Non-GMO, open-pollinated seed with dependable germination
  • Excellent for slicing, picnics, and summer celebrations

How to Grow:
Start seeds indoors 2–4 weeks before the last frost or direct-sow outdoors when soil temperatures reach 70°F. Choose a full-sun location with rich, well-drained soil. Space plants 3–4 feet apart in rows 6–8 feet apart. Keep soil evenly moist, watering deeply until fruits begin to ripen, then reduce watering to enhance sweetness. Harvest in about 90–100 days when the underside turns creamy yellow and the nearby tendril dries.

Harvest & Enjoy:
Slice open a Moon & Stars watermelon to reveal its vibrant red flesh and crisp texture. Perfect for snacking, picnics, or summer desserts. The thick rind also makes excellent pickles—an old-fashioned favorite for preserving summer flavor.
