Survival Garden Seeds was founded to inspire self-reliance through gardening. That might mean growing food and herbal medicine or even planting gardens to create a greener environment for the future. This week, we are honored to announce that Survival Garden Seeds has been named the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2026 Pacific Northwest Region Rural Small Business of the Year.
This prestigious recognition celebrates the hard work, dedication, and growth of small businesses that make a meaningful impact in their communities and industries. As a family-owned company headquartered in Rigby, Idaho, we are deeply grateful to receive this award. We are excited that what we are doing as a company is making such a difference. We see the impact of every day, but it is definitely gratifying to receive this official recognition.
A Recognition Rooted in Purpose

Since our launch, Survival Garden Seeds has focused on helping individuals and families become more self-sufficient through high-quality, non-GMO heirloom seeds backed by practical gardening education that helps gardeners succeed. Our passion for preparedness and sustainable living has grown into a thriving business serving gardeners, homesteaders, and families across the country.
Being recognized by the SBA largely reflects our business growth, because that's what the award is focused on. But it's more than that to us. That growth means we are also achieving the broader mission behind what we do: empowering people to grow their own food and build resilience for the future.
The Importance of Small Businesses
The U.S. Small Business Administration plays a vital role in supporting entrepreneurs and strengthening local economies across America. Through counseling, capital access, and business development resources, the SBA helps small businesses start, grow, expand, and even recover from setbacks.
During National Small Business Week, the SBA shines a spotlight on the more than 36 million small businesses operating throughout the United States. Small businesses represent 99.9% of all U.S. businesses, employ more than 62 million Americans, and generate the majority of new jobs nationwide.

We are proud to stand alongside so many hardworking entrepreneurs who continue to innovate, serve their communities, and contribute to the American economy.
Proudly Rural. Proudly American.
Operating from rural Idaho reflects who we are as a company. Hard work, integrity, stewardship, and preparedness are aligned with the farming culture and blue collar work ethic of our region, and other communities like it across the country.
This recognition as the Pacific Northwest Region Rural Small Business of the Year reinforces something we’ve believed from the beginning: by living out core values, we can make a difference. We don't have to compromise who we are. Our commitment to quality, extreme ownership, humility, and constant improvement continues to guide us every day. Everyone on the team is always working to meet these goals, and it has paid off.
We are grateful to our customers, employees, partners, and supporters who have helped make this achievement possible. Your trust and encouragement have fueled our growth every step of the way. Our success is yours, too.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to our mission of helping families grow food security and confidence through gardening. We’re excited about the future and look forward to continuing to serve our growing community with the same passion and dedication that brought us here.
Thank you for being part of the Survival Garden Seeds journey.
