Our Seed Vault seed selections are carefully chosen to provide a complete range of nutrition for your family.
We have included:
Legumes for protein
Leafy greens for lots of vitamins
Root vegetables and hardy winter squashes that will store for extended periods of time.
These collections contain both warm and cool weather seeds so you can grow food almost all year 'round.
Not only do our Seed Vaults contain lots of healthy vegetables, but we've also included flowers and herbs. Flowers and herbs play several important roles in your survival garden.
Flowers attract pollinators that will help your vegetables to produce.
Herbs provide additional flavor to your garden-fresh dishes.
Many of the flowers and herbs we've included have medicinal uses when brewed as teas or tinctures.
Heirloom seeds are the types of seeds your grandparents grew. These varieties have been passed down from generation to generation. They’re old reliable open-pollinated varieties that aren’t typically grown commercially. Instead, they have a rich history that predates modern breeding techniques.
You can learn more about open-pollinated, heirloom, and non-GMO seeds in our Survival Garden Training blog.
The majority of our seeds are sourced in the United States, with a few exceptions when the seed is difficult to source domestically. Whenever we do have to source outside of the US, we ensure our seeds are safe to grow, non-GMO varieties that meet our standards for germination and reliability.
No, we do not pre-treat our farmer seeds. All of our garden seeds for sale are untreated, open-pollinated, non-GMO, and heirloom varieties. They are kept in temperature-controlled cooler storage until they are packed and shipped to keep them pest and disease-free.
The seeds in our collections are specifically chosen from varieties that can be successfully grown from Zone 3 to Zone 10 USDA Hardiness Zones. However, individual varieties have specific needs to thrive in different environments. Each seed pack has optimal temperatures for germination and instructions on seed starting. Consult local frost dates to plan your garden and get the most out of your seeds.
Our seeds will generally last for 3-10 years if they are appropriately stored in a cool, dry place. However, we encourage you to grow your survival seeds within a year or two of purchase. This yields the best germination rates possible and also gives you more experience growing survival food now. At the end of the growing season, follow the instructions on the back of each packet for saving seeds for future gardens. These new seeds for survival will be more adapted to thrive in the growing conditions where you are.
Farmer Seed Vault Reviews
Great product! It has every type of seed you could want. Love how it is packaged. I live in Texas and got this in September so I have only tried the cold weather crops. They had a very nice germination rate and grew beautifully. Can’t wait to try more this growing season. Very happy with this!
This company is a great company to order seeds from. Not only do they have great seeds, but they also have great customer service. Somehow I accidentally purchased 2 $99 seeds. Customer service called me immediately to confirm if it was intentional or an accident. I was just so grateful that someone was able to catch that mistake. They refunded me immediately and my package came in the mail 5 days later. I will always recommend this company without a doubt a 100%
Bought these seeds initially because I liked the variety they had to offer. Then I was so shocked how well they did when I planted them. I have tried so many companies, these ems seeds grew into strong abundant plants. Couldn’t be happier, in fact I was so impressed I bought the big seed bucket.
Never got a chance, as the package was stolen from my porch, and not replaced by you. Don't know about the seeds, but your customer service sucks and I'm out 160 bucks
I haven't had a chance to see these seeds in action but I think for as many seeds & variety you get in this it is a great deal! I will be back after the summer to give another review after they have had a chance to grow.
Homesteader Seed Vault Reviews
Marie and I received two packages of Survival Garden Seeds. The Homesteader and the Home Garden sets. We were very pleased with the variety of the seeds. In addition, the packaging is sturdy and suitable for storage in Marie's root cellar. We will be starting the seed in Marie's greenhouse and using the plants in two ways. Marie has an enormous garden, and Emmaline will be container gardening with hers. We can't wait to watch our gardens produce this year.
I was very excited to get these seeds in! I can not wait until I can get them planted later this Spring. I’m also going to be buying other packs.
Each seed pack has full color pictures of what it’ll look like, and on the back there’s information on the seed and how to save them. In the backyard garden pack there is a very good variety of vegetables, and even some wildflower seeds to help pollinators find your garden. Very good selection for the price!
This is a great variety of heirloom seeds. I have them in the refrigerator untl time to plant. It won't be long before start some indoors to plant in the garden. It will be fun to save the seeds for the next years garden.
Can't wait to get started going my garden in the spring.
I am in awe of what I received! So many varieties and such care into their descriptions evening explaining how to save seeds! This is the perfect starter or master gardener pack! I am so anxious to get planting!
Home Garden Seed Collection Reviews
I haven’t planted my seeds yet but I am SO excited for Spring to get here so I can. I think this is such a great idea to buy the seeds as a bundle! You save money and get a lot of choices that aren’t in typical stores. Happy planting! Highly recommend!
The variety of seeds that each set comes with is impressive! Everyone should have a garden and an extra seed bank or two set back in case of emergency. What a great value!
