Nothing is more refreshing in the Summertime than an ice-cold glass of lemonade. Take your lemonade up a notch by adding the floral flavor of lavender. Plant our non-GMO, heirloom Lavender Seeds to grow your own fragrant (and delicious) lavender.
Ingredients for about 1 1/2 Quarts of Lavender Lemonade
- A small handful of fresh picked lavender flowers (or 1 tablespoon of dried lavender)
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 cups of boiling water
- 1 1/2 cups of freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 6 medium lemons)
- 2 cups of cold water
- Ice
- Lemon slices and lavender sprigs for garnish
Make the Lavender Syrup
In a large bowl, combine the lavender flowers and sugar. Keep in mind a little goes a long way when it comes to lavender. Using clean hands rub the lavender into the sugar to really infuse the sugar with the flavor.
Add the 2 cups of boiling water and let steep for at least 30 minutes. You can steep for up to several hours.
Strain the lavender from the syrup and pour the syrup into your serving pitcher.
Finishing Your Lemonade
Add the lemon juice and cold water to your syrup and finish with ice. Feel free to adjust the flavor by adding some sugar or more water if the flavor is too tart or too strong.
Pour into serving glasses and garnish with a lemon slice and lavender sprigs.
Enjoy!
