Connecting With the Community - Modern Homesteading Conference

Summer is jam packed full of exciting things for folks in the homesteading world.

Our owner Jason took Survival Garden Seeds on the road to Coeur D'Alene, Idaho at the end of June for the Modern Homesteading Conference. We met so many great new people… and caught up with some of our Affiliate Partners. A few folks stopped for photos and we’d love to share those with you!

Joel & Daniel Salatin of Polyface Farms are doing amazing work in sustainable agriculture. They impact thousands of people every week through their website polyfacefarms.com. We are also proud to announce that Polyface Farms carries select Survival Garden Seed products in their Farm Store.

We finally got to meet one of our favorite homesteading friends in person. Mary Shrader has been a big supporter of our products. Known for her wholesome cooking, preparedness, and holistic approach to health, her YouTube Channel, "Mary's Nest" has over 1 million subscribers. She's recently published an amazing cook book called The Modern Pioneer Cookbook.

Jessica Sowards of Roots & Refuge Farm is one of our newest Partners! We were thrilled to finally get to meet up and get the ball rolling to work together. Jess has a massive following of people learning Homesteading through her YouTube Channel, Roots & Refuge.

She really does live up to the name Anne of All Trades! Anne Briggs seems to be able to do EVERYTHING. Gardening, cooking, raising livestock, building furniture, building a house! She is one of our newest Partners in the homesteading arena as well. You can follow her at Anne of All Trades.

Kaye Kittrell of the Late Bloomer Show is one of our long-term partners we were happy to see at the conference! Follow her channel for lots of wonderful gardening tips and experiences.

Bevin Cohen from Small House Farm was a new friend we met in Idaho! An up-and-coming YouTuber, Bevin offers homesteading, permaculture, and herbal remedy videos on his channel.

We love when we get the chance to go out and meet our customers and learn what their needs and wants are. This helps us to make sure we are offering the types of seeds you are looking for. Many connections were made with influencers and patrons alike, and we treasure every one. Maybe we’ll get to see YOU at a conference in the future!

If you’re going to the Homesteaders of America Conference in Virginia on October 11 & 12, stop by our booth and say hello!
